Buckingham Palace is certainly one of the places you have to visit if you are in London. It is 300 years old building and the current residence of British monarchy. Many photos were taken in front of it and the changing of the guards is a spectacle itself. If you are lucky and the Queen is out of the country, some rooms and gardens of the palace are open for public.
Tower of London, a 900 years old construction, is located by the London Bridge is one of the main attractions of the city. The official name of this building is Her Majesty’s Royal Palace and Fortress and it was originally a fort and a prison. From the 14th century Tower of London is a place where Queen’s jewels are kept. There is also military arsenal, torture dungeons and a zoo and you can see all of this by paying a reasonable admission.
Madame Tussauds Museum is a world famous and one of the most visited attractions. This is a museum with the largest collection in the world of wax figures created by the looks of famous movie stars, singers, politicians and sport players. It is great thing to see it on your own, but it is even more interesting if you go with friends or family. Fun for everyone!
Natural Museum is definitely a place you have to visit. It has the largest and best collection of rare and extinct species, plants, meteor parts, rocks, dinosaur’s skeleton and even a spider that is over 40 million years old. There is over 70 millions of different samples, 55 millions of them being animals. There are about 9 millions of fossils, which is incredible. One part of this museum is located in Tringo, about 70 km away from London, and there is a collection of bird species, 95% of which are the species that we are familiar with today. It is really amazing and you can learn a lot and admire the species that you can’t see alive anymore. Another great thing is that it is admission free.
London Eye was built as a symbol of entering into the new millennium and it happened to become one of the most popular attractions in the city. The wheel is 135m high and it is a great place to take some photos, see the cityscape and even help you to orient and choose from above where else to go and what to visit.
If you are staying for a short time and don’t have time to see all sites, the view from London Eye can be a consolation prize since you can see from there all you didn’t manage to visit.
